Privacy - Fueled and Schooled

This policy covers two different things and it is worth keeping them apart: this website, which exists today, and the application, which is in development. Where a statement is a commitment about software that is not finished, it says so.

This website

There is no analytics, no advertising pixel, and no third-party tracker on this site. We do not know how many pages you read or where you came from. That is a deliberate choice: a product asking families to trust it with five children’s education records should not open the conversation covered in trackers.

Two third parties are involved in serving this site, and that is all:

Our hosting provider, which records standard server request logs including IP addresses, for security and for keeping the site up.
Google Fonts, which serves the three typefaces used here. Loading a font from their servers discloses your IP address to Google. If that matters to you, a font-blocking extension breaks nothing but the lettering.

We set no cookies. Your light or dark theme preference is stored in your own browser’s local storage and never leaves your device.

The beta form

When you ask to join the beta we store what you type:

Your email address.
Your first name, if you give one.
How you school and how you travel, in the broad categories on the form.
The age bands of your children — bands only, never names, never birthdates.
The regions you expect to travel in.
Any places you nominate, and anything you write in the free-text fields.

We use it to run the beta: to decide who to invite in which order, to seed the place library, and to write to you when there is something to try. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with advertisers, and we do not send marketing on behalf of anyone else. Every message we send has an unsubscribe link, and asking us to delete your record deletes it — write to support@fueledandschooled.app.

The form asks about children in age bands rather than as individuals on purpose. At this stage we have no reason to hold anything more specific, so we do not.

Children, and COPPA

This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under thirteen through it. The beta form is for parents.

These are the commitments the application is being built to, and they are architectural rather than promissory:

Children have no social surface. Nothing about a child is reachable outside their household without a deliberate, per-item, revocable act by their parent. This is enforced by database row-level security, with an automated test suite that runs on every schema change.
No child data is used to train or develop AI models, by us or by anyone we send data to. Child references are pseudonymised before any lesson generation request leaves the platform.
No advertising to children, and no behavioural advertising at all.
Location history is household-scoped. Background location tracing is opt-in and off by default; the app is fully useful without it.
Access grants expire. A grant to a grandparent or a sitter names which children and which capabilities it covers and can carry an expiry, enforced at the moment of access rather than by a nightly job that might not run.
Every access and every grant is written to an audit log, because this data is a legal education record.
You can take it all with you. The annual archive export is full structured data, rendered documents, media and a self-verifying manifest, to storage you control.

What we will never do

Sell or rent your information, or your children’s.
Serve behavioural advertising, to you or to a child.
Use a child’s work, photographs or records to train a model.
Make a child’s profile discoverable, searchable, or reachable by a stranger.
Add tracking to this site without saying so here first.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will date the change here and email anyone on the beta list. A change that broadens what we collect will be described plainly rather than absorbed into a general update.
